Integrated management systems
combine relevant elements of ISO 9001 ISO 14001 and
other standards into one rational system to facilitate
compliance with multiple standards. The purpose of
organization's integrated management system is to ensure
that product, service quality and environmental
compliance continue to meet the requirements of 9001
14001 standards. It incorporates all of
organization's systems and processes into one integrated
framework. Integrated management systems may apply to
any organization, regardless of its size or industry.
All management systems relevant to the organization can
be included. These may include ISO 9001 quality
management system, ISO 14001 environmental management
system and others.
Unfortunately, many organizations still deal with their
management systems independently and do not consider
advantages of the synergy that was build into the
standards. The resulting management systems often
produce inter-departmental 'walls' and do not support
effective and efficient business operation.
Modern integrated management systems treat ISO 9001
quality management system, ISO 14001 environmental
management system and others as a set of requirements
that include common elements such as management review,
documentation management, corrective and preventive
action and others. Development of an integrated
management system allows to address requirements of ISO
9001 ISO 14001 standards in a more streamlined manner
throughout the organization. This publication
